LeeAnn Shipowick

Happy holidays! Wow, what a whirl wind this year has been. It really is true - be careful what you wish for because it can come true, or maybe it's the whole law of attraction thing. I'm not completely sure. But I do know that I'm doing what I've always wanted to do - lecturing and consulting in dentistry. I grew up in the dental field. My Dad practiced in Red Deer, Alberta for 35 years and at the early age of 15, I was trained to assist him and his colleagues as cheap labour! It's a miracle I ever consented or chose to go into hygiene. Its been 20 years since I graduated from Loma Linda University (B.Sc., RDH) and in those 20 years, I have worked in private practice, public health, independent hygiene, design and image consulting as well as practice coaching. My final destination is here, at the ADEI.

I'm so happy to have this opportunity to carve a place in the dental community where we bring innovative ideas and proactive solutions to the forefront. Anita Jupp started the legacy and I thank her for the opportunity to continue it. I am grateful to Anita and to our amazing "ACE" team {more About ACE to come in the future}. Nancy McNutt is a dynamic practice coach and lecturer. She is key in developing programs and keeping our material current. Sal Scheibe does wonderful design work and is able to understand just what look and feel we're after. Margaret White keeps our finances in tip top condition and Melanie McGlynn keeps us organized and running smoothly. I just want to thank them for their commitment to excellence. From all of us here at the ADEI, we wish you happy holidays and a very prosperous new year. It would be our pleasure to assist you to greatness, so dream not only of a white Christmas but of your vision for success. Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to our Clients & Friends

They say we should always look forward and never back but at this time of the year, I do look back at my accomplishments with pride and realize the help I have had from people around me; my family, friends, team, the support of our sponsors and seeing the success and appreciation of clients. 2007 has been a very interesting year. I sold my business although I am still a partner in the ADEI along with LeeAnn Shipowick. People ask me if I am going to retire or slow down, but I have a problem thinking I could be that old! Where have the years gone? I have no intention of retiring for a long time. I am still having too much fun but it will be nice to eventually take more time off to travel for pleasure other than work. LeeAnn has been instrumental in the design and re-branding of ADEI, adding her own personal style. Together we are working on new programs to continue to keep on the leading edge with our programs.

In place of sending gifts to our clients and sponsors we are going to sponsor a family for Christmas through the Salvation Army. This is our fourth year to sponsor a family and it truly is the best gift to imagine the children's faces Christmas morning opening their gifts.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Yes, it's the Holidays and with that comes the panic of giving the ultimate gift. We can help our clients with that. Promoting a "White Christmas" whitening packages and gift certificates for all whitening services including in-office whitening, take home kits and cosmetic dentistry.

Design gift packages or baskets with whitening products. They should be tasteful, festive and easy for our clients to stick under the tree. Gift certificates provide a convenient way for our patients/clients to give to their loved ones the ideal gift of a beautiful smile. And that gift may be the seed we plant that allows them to proceed with the phase II treatment plan. They may feel that Christmas is the time to fit treatment into their budget. And as we know, not every client decides on their treatment for themselves. Often they seek approval from their significant other. This seasonal promotion allows the opportunity for them to revisit and perhaps proceed with the elective cosmetic dentistry.

Here are some ideas for your promotional material:
  • Give the gift of a White Christmas, ZOOM $599
  • Has she been dreaming of a white Christmas? Give her the gift of whiter, brighter teeth
  • Make their wishes come true! Give the gift of a white, beautiful smile
Your promotional material does not have to be elaborate; just classy and tasteful on poster board or laminated from images designed on your computer. You could also put a computer generated print out to stuff into their take home bags, in patient portfolios, or in letters that are mailed out.

Seasonal promotion is a good thing to do. It can give your production a boost in what traditionally can be a slower time of year. So be Santa's helper this holiday season and promote a package to sell beautiful whiter, brighter smiles.

Private presentation sessions by our ADEI instructors are now available at a location of your choice. You can have us in to your office or organize a session at a local meeting room in combination with another practice or a group of practices. The ADEI’s practice management programs are designed for the entire team. The workshops focus on improving system efficiency, increasing revenues and encouraging team participation in the practice building process. Our in-office fees are comparable to registering an entire team for an out of office program and there is significant cost savings with additional participants.
